For individuals who subscribe to NARPO, the 2025 annual subscription is £26.76.
The subscription will be deducted from your February pension (payable on 31 January 2025)
You may have read recently that some forces are charging officers for both the ‘Unauthorised Payment’ and ‘Scheme Sanction’ Charges.
Unauthorised payments are caused when an officer chooses a lump sum above the appropriate threshold, this can be avoided by taking a lower lump sum and higher pension. However, this then creates a Scheme Sanction Charge (SCC). The SSC is payable to HMRC and is paid by the Police Authority.
It has been highlighted that some forces are not doing this and passing the SCC to the officer. Please be reassured that West Midlands Police are not one of these forces.
